33 on Bree consists of a series of existing buildings and façades spanning a whole city block. The accommodation is varied and comprises ground floor retail, 1 to 8 floors of parking and offices, floors 9 to 10 for offices and/ or apartments. The design challenge was to reflect a cohesive building incorporating inherited facades and to respond sensitively to the surrounding heritage of the city. Sunscreening and signage has been explored in creative ways in response to the client brief. This project won the 2007 SAPOA Innovative Excellence Award for best office project.
