KMH Architects are looking for a dynamic Architect to join our Cape Town office.  The role is specifically in our retail team servicing a large retail portfolio working directly under the retail partner.  From time to time you may be required to work with teams in other sectors however the role will be retail focused.

 

A successful candidate should have the following skillset, experience and attributes;

 

5 years or more experience post PrArch qualification,

Experience managing projects in the capacity of a project architect  

Industry expectation of Architectural skillset which over and above formal education would encompass AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, Indesign and Photoshop to undertake architectural inputs in addition to more administrative abilities in Microsoft Outlook, Word, PowerPoint etc.

Must be able to articulate ideas both in language and drawing as a form of communication

Display confidence in their abilities and be able to communicate well with client bodies

Must has sufficient maturity to manage Clients and Consultants alike

Firm grasp on the Building Contract (JBCC)

Firm understanding of Local Authority Regulations and Integrated Zoning Scheme

Have their own transport and be able to regular attend meetings outside the office.

 

The retail related scope ranges from;

 

• Tenant Design Appraisals

• Tenant Co-ordination

• Centre Leasing Plans involving renewals, consolidations and subdivisions

• Small to medium projects generally in live environments within existing retail centres

• Weekly Client Meetings and inspections

 

The position is for full time employment and will carry a commensurate salary dependant on maturity, experience and quality of portfolio.
