KMH Architects was established in Cape Town, South Africa, in 1912 by John Perry, FRIBA. The practice has evolved through five generations of
partners, maintaining a tradition of professionalism, expertise and partner custodianship.


KMH is recognised as one of the oldest architectural practices in continuous business in the world. In its 110 years, KMH has completed over 3 000 buildings in Cape Town, Johannesburg and other towns and cities in South Africa and Africa and has won many awards for excellence.

KMH practices architecture, interior design and space planning out of offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg for our South African and international clients.

The KMH team consists of approximately 50 talented people led by six partners across two offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Our design and technical teams are supported by a strong administrative team and advanced technical systems. 

This capacity enables the practice to successfully undertake commissions for large-scale projects and we have a proven track record of delivery.

We document the majority of our projects in Revit augmented with other design software to deliver individual project requirements.

KMH Architects is a member of the Green Building Council of South Africa (GBCSA) and has the capacity and certified Green Star SA accredited professionals to design buildings in accordance with the GBCSA star rating system.

KMH Architects cc has a certified BEE rating of 1. We are committed to an empowerment strategy to better our rating across all categories in accordance with the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice.
