Centre Point

Centre Point has a long heritage; it was the leading shopping destination for Milnerton residents for three decades since the centre was originally developed in the early 1970s. When the Public Investment Corporation purchased the existing centre, KMH was engaged to design a new mixed-use building on the site to fulfil the client’’s aspiration that the new centre became the nexus of Milnerton’s historic CBD renewal.

The new mixed-use building consists of two levels of contemporary convenience retail with the main entrance on Koeberg Road. Three levels of basement parking offer direct access to the shopping centre above. At the top of the building there are two floors of residential apartments with their own address on Langerman Road. Combining the retail and residential programmes ensures the development will have a 24/7 life and contribute positively to the surrounding neighbourhood.

The design is forward looking, deliberately not referencing the surrounding context, but rather providing an aspirational vision of what Milnerton’s CBD could become.
